August 20, 2019 4:19 pm

In an effort to continue to improve inter-island ferry services around the country, Interlink Shipping Services will open an office in Lautoka next week.

Interlink Shipping Services Director Ashish Kumar says they hope to bring in a fourth vessel by the end of the year to help cater for the demand by the travelling public.

Kumar says they have made bold steps in improving the industry already with the latest inclusion to their fleet, the MV Ohana, which has reduced travel time from Natovi to Nabouwalu.

The MV Ohana travels at a faster speed and can make what would normally be a four hour trip from Natovi to Nabouwalu is now less than three hours.

Interlink Shipping Manager, Josaia Nawa highlighted that this change is convenient for travelers and such a time allows people to do more.

“Yeah it’s great, like people are enjoying it and they still can’t believe the speed that we have on Ohana.”

Interlink Shipping Services has three ships that include MV Westerland, MV Queen of Melbourne and the MV Ohana that service the Natovi to Nabouwalu route.
