Local company, Food Processors Limited has launched new frozen agricultural products.

Operations Manager Rupali Ben says the latest inclusion are frozen cassava, frozen taro leaves, frozen pumpkins, and frozen jackfruit.

Ben says the introduction of these new products is a milestone achievement for the company.

“Now there’s a lot of busy episodes in people’s life. So a convenience choice of food needs to be provided, so this is what we have offered. We have gone back to the market, we have surveyed the market, we’ve seen what there is needed, and there is no time for ladies and gents to go home and peel and pack the food”.

Minister for Agriculture Dr Mahendra Reddy has highlighted that the government will continue support Fijian made products.

Dr Reddy says boosting the visibility of local food suppliers in overseas markets is crucial.

“And we want to take over that particular market, not only we want to take up that market but we also want to grow that market – that market of consumption for frozen vegetables. So we would be supporting everything”.

Food Processors Limited will launch more products in a month.
