Ten businesses using M-Paisa’s QR Pay are now offering customers a ten percent discount for every item purchased through the service.

Vodafone Head of e-Commerce Shailendra Prasad highlighted this after five new businesses in Suva joined Vodafone’s virtual payment portal.

The five businesses are The Coffee Bean, The Mad Hatter Hut, Wing Sang Co, Raiwaqa Bakery and Coffee Shots.

“At a time like this when many people are struggling to make ends meet, ten percent is a significant saving and if you are able to accumulate all this savings at a number of places where you can possibly be able to save ten percent, that you know amounts to $10/$15 in a month which may be sufficient to pay your electricity bill, so you know every cent, every cent counts today.”

Prasad highlighted the importance of technology in engaging with customers in new ways for the survival of businesses during the COVID Pandemic.

Over 520 business outlets, Fiji wide are now using M-Paisa as a cashless payment method.
