Vendors at the Suva Fish Market have noticed changes in customer choice during this COVID-19 period.
Suva Fish Vendors Association President Samu Maraiwai says people now prefer to buy from fish shops rather than the market.
Maraiwai says sales have been drastically affected given that price of sliced fish in shops is something they cannot compete with.
“More than fifty percent of our customers are crowding into the shops especially on Saturdays, you come around there on Saturdays you’ll see the crowd that goes in.”
He is hoping the lifting of the ban on Kawakawa and Donu will help sales.
