Financial prudence leads to sustainability: Patel

Energy Fiji Limited is the only infrastructure organization that is self-funding and does not receive a budget through government annually.

Highlighting this Board Chair, Daksesh Patel says EFL has managed to adopt best business practices to attain this achievement.

Patel adds unlike other infrastructure bodies such as Water Authority, Land Transport Authority and Fiji Ports Corporation who receive government assistance, EFL has sustained itself from making profits internally for both capital expenditure and operating expenses.

“We sustain our self by having financial prudent and ensuring that our debt governance is met annually and that we are able to borrow and grow annually. This is an outcome or product of all your people. Great leadership, great employees and great efforts amongst all so thank you very much.”

Patel adds it’s not easy for an organization like EFL to succeed but hard work from all employees has made this possible.

These comments were made at the EFL awards night which recognized the accomplishments of its employees.
