Financial literacy helps seasonal workers get ahead

Fijians heading abroad for Recognized Seasonal Employment are now being provided financial literacy training.

ANZ is partnering with the Fiji High Commission in New Zealand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Suva to ensure that Fijian RSE workers are provided with advice and support to manage their salaries while in New Zealand.

ANZ Fiji Corporate Sustainability Manager, Sitiveni Marovia says salaries from seasonal work contribute a lot to the economic development of communities here in Fiji.

He says they promote and encourage financial literacy through their Money Minded program.

Second Secretary to Fiji High Commissioner in New Zealand, Josua Tuwere, visited Hawkes Bay with ANZ to meet RSE workers who had participated in ANZ’s financial literacy program.

Tuwere says the demand for RSE workers from across the Pacific could double in the next two years.
