Tachiiri says as the first Pacific Island developing state to host the high-level meeting, it’s a reflection of Fiji as a regional hub.

He adds the meeting will also provide a platform for other Pacific Island countries to highlight their achievements, challenges and identify areas where collective action could be taken.

“As you saw in that video, we will discuss the very important issues in the regions for example the climate change, ocean health and gender inequalities and also renewable energies so those are the main topics to be discussed in the Annual Meetings and our technical teams and also the Fiji government are preparing for those sessions.”

The ADB meeting will be held in Nadi from May 1st to the 5th.
