A Labasa farmer has grown what is not only believed to be one of the biggest pineapples in the country but also a very unique one.

“I planted it in April last year and I saw it like this in November. All these shoots were coming out.”

Babban used only water to grow the pineapple.

It was picked last week, weighing almost 10 kilograms and measuring 30 centimeters wide with about 100 suckers.

Another pineapple, similar to his big brother and another unique one is still growing.

The father of three sells his pineapples to the local hotels and market.
