Minister for Industry and Trade Premila Kumar has endorsed the China – Pacific Programme of Actions on Economic and Development Cooperation.

While speaking at the 3rd China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum in Apia, Samoa, Kumar said cooperation in strategic sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, information and trade will ensure mutual sharing of best practices.

Kumar also acknowledged the Chinese government for their continuing support to Fiji and the Pacific Islands.

She adds endorsing this agreement paves the way for enhanced regionalism under common shared values and interests.

The Programme was signed by 10 Pacific Island Leaders in the interest of deepening relations with the government China.

Kumar also reiterated Fiji’s commitment to the One China Policy.
