The Fiji Development is looking to better its response time for loan applications.

The FDB is also looking to conduct more site visits to build better relations with its customers.

FDB Chief Executive Mark Clough stressed that project visits, site visits and customer visits are a key part of their business.

Clough adds that whether the visit be for a review of a loan or an account as part of an evaluation or whether it be just getting closer to customers the visits are crucial especially for those customers who may be facing difficulties.

Clough also highlighted that in terms of technology FDB has plans to have officers who go out on-site visits equipped with a device where they can record conversations with the customer or takedown data and immediately input that into the FDB System.

“So that the data is virtually live, rather than a two-step approach of taking down the information, getting back down to the office and then typing that information to the system there. That is an example of where technological renewal can increase both our efficiency and responsiveness to customers.”

The Chief Executive says FDB does not want the customers to get to a point whereby they are experiencing difficulty to the point of no return, rather is looking to be more proactive in being out with customers and identifying problems before they occur.
