Demand for world cup apparel expected to sky rocket

Its Rugby World Cup week and while the focus is being directed at action on the field beginning Friday, fans have also been getting into the hype.

Two of the retailers selling World Cup jerseys have started to experience an increase in the demand for team jumpers.

Official Fiji rugby retailer and Tappoo’s Level 1 Manager Maraia Salabogi says Fijian fans are some of the most passionate and the need for a team jersey, is driving them to merchandise sellers.

As we’re getting closer to the World Cup and the hype is getting higher. You can actually see that people are motivated to actually purchase these Rugby World Cup jersey or even to hold one, it’s a big thing for any Fijian.

MHCC’s Adidas shop manager Anish Mishra says Jacks of Fiji has also gotten in on the action, and New Zealand All Blacks, which has a big fan base in the country, is also in high demand.

 

“It’s a legendary jersey. What they’ve done include a silver fern in front and there’s a design that represents the young talents and all the Sevu Reece are currently playing in the team and the legends mean the legendary players currently playing in the team.”

The demand for world cup apparel is expected to hit overdrive this week.
