Abraham says the use of the internet and people’s desperate need to earn quick cash has made it easier for fraudsters to target a wider range of people.

“The nature in which these scams are organized is that they will say you have won something but you need to pay something to access it. Now when you have won something you have won it there’s no need for payment to access the prices.”

Abraham says different means are being used to target Fijians which includes posts, emails, and social media sites.
