These individuals are public servants, private sector employees, domestic workers, retirees, students and farmers.

Prasad says an analysis of new investors entering the market reveals that majority are in the range of 26-35 years.

He adds trends also show that 48 percent of new investors recorded were below 35-years-old.

“The average total market stands at 23% that is a very competitive return in comparison to other forms of investment or the domestic alternatives that is available in Fiji’s financial market. This was a good sign for the investors.”

Currently there are 20 companies listed on the SPSE with close to 19,000 investors.
